Subject: Giving Kids an Equal Chance

Three out of four students in Metro Nashville Public Schools are not able to read on grade level by the end of third grade, making them twice as likely to drop out in later years.

United Way of Greater Nashville is partnering to make sure that every student enters kindergarten ready to learn and has the support and skills they need to graduate.

In 2019, because of generous donors just like you:

          • 44,141 preschool children received books in their homes to build crucial early literacy skills
          • 2,322 students showed at least one year’s growth in key literacy and academic skills
          • 514,000 books were distributed to young children to build home libraries

Because of you, kids like Amare can receive the tutoring and support he needs to excel in school.

Together, we can give every child in our community an equal chance to learn and succeed.
