Days of Action
Give Thanks

To every person who created a meal box, ran a collection drive or donated their time and resources, we are so incredibly grateful.
We couldn’t have done it without you.
Because of your kindness and hard work, more than 1,400 families are able to share a warm, holiday meal together. That’s over $109,000 back into our community to support families in need.
We’re especially thankful to Ingram Charities, Nashville Soccer Club, Aldi and Trader Joe’s for their generous support this year.
United Way created the Give Thanks Day of Action to relieve the financial burden that many families face during the holiday season. Based on three meals a day, the average family of four receives $10.81 a meal through public assistance programs. The average cost of a traditional holiday dinner is roughly $85. That’s seven times the amount a family has available to spend on a single meal. The boxes were filled with food needed for a traditional holiday meal, along with supplemental food to feed a family through the holiday weekend.
