Winter Storm Recovery Fund in Davidson County Activated in Response to Severe Weather

Jan 29, 2026 | News

United Way of Greater Nashville (UWGN) today announced activation of the Winter Storm Recovery Fund for Davidson County residents impacted by this week’s severe weather.

Of UWGN’s nine county footprint, Davidson was the hardest hit and has experienced unprecedented power outages.

Funds will be used as needed to address current needs and emerging needs, such as food and supplies. In the coming days, once community needs can be fully assessed, funds will be used for cleanup and debris removal and other emergent needs.

Tractor Supply, headquartered in Brentwood, has provided $250,000 in seed money through its foundation to help initiate recovery efforts and generate additional financial support.

“Supporting our neighbors and our communities is core to who are at Tractor Supply. It is the foundation of our Mission and Values,” said Hal Lawton, President and CEO of Tractor Supply. “We look out for one another and show up in their hour of need. For our Middle Tennessee community, that hour is now. It will take significant resources to recover and rebuild from this devastating storm. At Tractor Supply, we are eager to help and invite our fellow neighbors in the business community to do the same.”

“If there was ever a time to live up to the mantra of Nashville Strong, it is now. Our coalition is indicative of the wonderful strength of Nashville. This storm has been unprecedented in so many ways, and today’s announcements show that Nashvillians are prepared to respond,” said Nashville Mayor Freddie O’Connell.

“In moments like this, partnership is everything. We’re thankful for Tractor Supply’s leadership and for everyone helping our neighbors recover,” said UWGN CEO Erica Mitchell.

Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee will assist in additional fundraising efforts.

At this time, emergency responders, including local utilities, municipalities and first responders are addressing immediate concerns.

UWGN and Hands On are focused on gathering accurate information and preparing to support recovery efforts once it is safe to do so.

Community members in need inside or outside of Davidson County are encouraged to call 2-1-1 for available resources and support. 211 is a free and confidential service helping people find the local resources they need for help in times of crisis and beyond. Updates will be shared as more information becomes available.
