Making an Impact: Robertson County
A look at our work.
Volunteer Income Tax Assistance
Each year, United Way volunteers help thousands of low-income and at-risk taxpayers prepare their taxes through the VITA free tax prep program. In 2023, we offered in-person and virtual VITA tax prep throughout Robertson County and put $6,254 into the county’s VITA funding.
The Family Collective
Kids who experience homelessness face many obstacles to reaching their potential, like lack of resources, frequent school changes, loss of school records and emotional stress. That’s why The Family Collective is preventing and ending family homelessness by connecting families to sustainable opportunities and disrupting cycles of poverty.
Raise Your Hand
Volunteer tutors work in Robertson County Schools to help first- through fourth-grade students struggling with reading and math. We gave $311,852 to Robertson County in Raise Your Hand funding to help serve 1,221 students across 11 schools.
Robertson County Anti-Drug Coalition
We prevent substance abuse by building strong partnerships to help support a healthy, drug-free Robertson County. We implement effective strategies that prevent substance abuse among 14- to 18-year-olds with a focus on three main areas: binge drinking, tobacco abuse and prescription drug abuse.
Days of Action
United Way’s Days of Action are community-wide volunteer opportunities. Each year, thousands of volunteers come together to support our work and improve the lives of our most vulnerable neighbors through initiatives such as Stuff the Bus and Give Thanks. In 2023, $1,000 was provided for Stuff the Bus supplies and $1,500 was supplied for Give Thanks gift cards.
211 Helpline
The 211 Helpline is a 24/7, 365-day information and referral help line that provides individuals in need with help in times of crisis and beyond. Serving 42 counties in Middle Tennessee, our 211 Helpline is staffed by trained specialists and supports a database of more than 10,000 health and human service programs.
Funded Partners
Our Community Impact Funding process mobilizes resources to provide results-oriented funding to 37 nonprofit agencies serving Robertson County. Funding recommendations are made by a dedicated group of community volunteers and are approved by our board of trustees. In 2023, we put $226,571 back into Robertson County through our Community Impact Funding.
