United Way of Greater Nashville Receives $50,000 Donation from The Fallon Company for Winter Storm Recovery Fund

United Way of Greater Nashville (UWGN) today announced a $50,000 contribution from The Fallon Company to support immediate relief efforts for residents impacted by the devastation of Winter Storm Fern.

This donation will go directly to the newly established Winter Storm Recovery Fund – a partnership between the UWGN, the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, and Volunteer Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD) – which Nashville leaders announced on Jan. 29 as the city accelerates its recovery in the wake of the storm.

As recovery crews and first responders work tirelessly to clear debris and assist families in need, this funding will help the partnership mobilize disaster response teams and provide essential resources – including emergency shelter, food, and water – to those who have been displaced or suffered significant loss.

With natural crises becoming more frequent, the capacity for rapid community response is vital. The Fallon Company, the master developer behind the Eastpoint project on the East Bank, stepped forward to ensure that the city’s safety net remains strong for all Nashvillians.

“We view Nashville as more than just a place to do business; it is a community that our employees live and work in, and we are proud to be a part of,” said Michael Fallon, CEO of The Fallon Company. “In times of crisis, neighbors support neighbors. We are heartbroken by the impact Winter Storm Fern has had on so many families, and we simply want to do our part to help the Winter Storm Recovery Fund deliver urgent aid to those who need it most.”

The donation comes at a critical moment as United Way’s 2-1-1 Helpline faces a surge in requests for housing and essential aid. Local leaders highlighted the donation as an example of corporate citizenship that prioritizes the city’s wellbeing above development goals.

“We are deeply grateful for The Fallon Company’s generous support during a moment when so many of our neighbors are facing immense hardship. This contribution strengthens our ability to respond quickly and compassionately to those impacted by Winter Storm Fern,” said UWGN CEO Erica Mitchell.

“As our city begins our recovery process, seeing The Fallon Company show up this way for their neighbors sends a strong message that their dedication to Nashville extends far beyond the footprint of the East Bank.” said Ben York, CEO of the East Bank Development Authority.
