Now Totaling $576,500 to Community Partners
United Way of Greater Nashville (UWGN) today announced its next round of winter storm recovery funding, bringing total disbursements to $576,500. This funding is part of UWGN’s ongoing commitment to helping households most affected by the January winter storm.
This round of funding will support multiple community partners. To view all disbursements, click here.
“Power may be coming back on, but the trees are still down. Recovery will not end when the debris is cleared. The need for volunteerism is great — and will be long-term,” said Lori Shinton, Chief Growth Officer at United Way of Greater Nashville. “We’re grateful for the volunteers already stepping up and we invite more neighbors to join us in supporting families through the months ahead.”
There are over 1,300 requests for debris removal and winter storm assistance across Davidson County, underscoring the scale of the challenge facing residents.
Those wishing to assist in debris removal, resident outreach, or other storm‑related support roles can sign up through Hands On’s Winter Storm Response volunteer opportunities, available here: https://handson.unitedwaygreaternashville.org/winterstorm2026
Residents whose homes were damaged and who need repair support should complete the Nashville Responds Needs Tracker at: https://www.nashvilleresponds.com. Select “Share Needs” and indicate the type of assistance required (including electrical connection issues, debris removal, or repair needs). This tracker helps Nashville Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD) partners understand damage severity, prioritize cases, and coordinate nonprofit resources effectively.
Residents may also call 2-1-1 for help completing the form.
“Our mission to support our most vulnerable neighbors guides everything we do. During this challenging time, it is even more vital that we focus our Winter Storm Recovery Fund on the greatest areas of need identified by our VOAD partners,” said UWGN CEO Erica Mitchell.
