“If you can’t give money, give your time—because time is equally as valuable.”
Jacklyn says her passion for giving back came from seeing how her mom and neighbors interacted when she was growing up. “It’s important to know that you can lean on your neighbors during hard times,” she says. She started getting excited about United Way when she helped run Fifth Third’s employee giving campaign. Every year, she rallies her colleagues to volunteer at Stuff the Bus and to compete throughout the summer to see which departments can collect the most supplies. “When every student can start out with the same supplies and the tools to be successful, they are in a better position to thrive and to be excited about coming to school.”
