“We have to make sure people don’t get left behind because of their circumstances. Regardless of where we are in our lives, there’s always potential and capacity for us to pull someone up from where they are right now.”

Sai’s job has taken him all over the world. But he says Nashville is the place to be. His company has always partnered with United Way and he appreciates the flexibility to contribute to the causes that he believes in and not having to give to one specific agency. “That kind of flexibility and the broad reach that United Way has here in Nashville has made it appealing,” he says. He and his colleagues at Rogers Group often volunteer for Second Harvest Food Bank, PENCIL and the Nashville Rescue Mission. “It’s really good to have a first-hand look at how United Way is helping our community and how we can also be a part of it and lead from the front—not just donating and forgetting about it but being actively involved.”
