Meet Brittany Miller: A YLS Leader Making Major Moves

Apr 21, 2026 | Blog

Since joining United Way of Greater Nashville’s Young Leaders Society Board in 2025, Brittany Miller has taken her role by storm — and then some. Known for her reliability, energy, and willingness to jump in wherever help is needed, Brittany is one of those leaders you can always count on to raise her hand when it matters most.

She serves as the MRM and ERM Reporting Manager at FirstBank, where she applies her expertise in risk management. Outside of her professional role, Brittany is a dedicated mother of two and an active community advocate. Last year, she completed the Young Leaders Council (YLC) program, an experience that deepened her passion for nonprofit impact. Following her time with YLC, she joined the Nashville Urban Debate League board, where she continues to champion leadership and educational opportunities for local youth.

Brittany’s influence doesn’t stop with her own involvement — she’s been instrumental in bringing FirstBank deeper into the United Way family. From securing sponsorships and leadership participation for YLS’s signature event, Networking Over Nashville, to planning FirstBank’s inaugural Mardi Gras‑Themed Nonprofit Fair this year, her efforts have helped create new pathways for engagement, visibility, and impact across the company.

Her commitment, creativity, and heart for service make her a standout member of the YLS community — and the perfect spotlight for this quarter.

Finding Purpose Through Service

When you meet Brittany, one thing becomes clear right away: her commitment to community isn’t just something she talks about — it’s something she lives.

Brittany first connected with United Way through a Give Thanks volunteer effort, an experience that immediately sparked a desire to get more involved. That moment of giving back opened the door to what would become a meaningful and ongoing relationship with United Way of Greater Nashville and the Young Leaders Society (YLS).

Today, Brittany proudly serves as a YLS Board Member, supporting both fundraising and volunteer initiatives that strengthen the local community. For her, YLS offered the perfect combination of purpose and connection — a place to make a difference while surrounded by other young professionals who share the same heart for service.

When asked to describe giving back in just one word, Brittany chose “Purposeful.”

And that purpose is clear in the way she shows up for others.

Brittany wishes more people understood how powerful collective giving truly is. United Way isn’t just funding programs — it’s building broader systems of support that address root causes and create sustainable, long‑term change for individuals and families across the region.

One moment that stands out for her was attending last year’s Leaders United Dinner, where she saw firsthand the impact that years of consistent commitment can have.

“It was a powerful reminder that when people consistently show up and give back, they create a legacy that extends far beyond any one event or moment,” she shared.

Brittany embodies that spirit of consistent, purpose‑driven leadership — and we are so grateful to have her as part of the YLS community.
